Some anime-manga cats

I'm teaching a twelve-year-old a little Japanese. She loves anime and manga, so I brought together these four cats from anime and manga for us to use in practicing この、その、あの (this, that, and that over there), as well as "Who is this cat?" and other fun things.

Who is this cat?

One is Jiji from Kiki's Delivery Service, one is Luna from Sailor Moon, one is Kamineko, from Azumanga Daioh, and one is Kyô, from Fruits Basket, in cat form. Do you know (or can you guess) who's who?

I recognize two of them: Jiji and Luna. But, that's all.

My daughter is trying to brush up on her Japanese again and spent the weekend working on her writing.

Do you know (or can you guess) who's who?

I recognize Kyo and I can guess Luna. I'd love to know who the big-eared little black cat is. That's a great style.

Yes, I was thinking maybe I should have done the other cat from Sailor Moon, Artemis, as that one might have been harder to guess--though if anyone thinks at all about the manga name, they'll figure it out, even so.

I've only seen Fruits Basket, but I know two of the others through fannish osmosis. So then I can guess Kamineko by process of elimination.

Also, one of the cats is labelled with his name, though it's kind of small. :)

Hee, yes, that's true about the label. But only a few know that!

I know all four fandoms -- I was about to say I know them well, but I'm only passingly familiar with SM. I mean, one's from one of my top favorite series, one's from one of my top favorite creators (manga), and the third is from my top favorite creator (anime). (I'm assuming you can name which is which.)

Why Kamineko and not Maya?

Maya would have been a good choice! But I just love Kamineko--かむ前の瞬間がかわいいからです。

I know Luna and I can read the label on the black cat, so after that it's a matter of guessing at which cat matches the art style of which anime I haven't seen. (My guesses: Fruits Basket above, Azumanga Daioh below.)

I really need to watch Kiki's Delivery Service. I never have, which seems a very silly gap in my Studio Ghibli knowledge. (I haven't seen everything they've done, but a number of them, anyway.)
