December 9: snowman

Here is what the driveway looked like at noon, when I cleared it:



By 4 pm it had mainly melted, but dusk was approaching, so today's drawing is a very basic snowman:



It's kind of fun dealing with the weather--it makes it more of a game. I'm thinking maybe I won't try to refresh the numbers of the still-to-be-filled in boxes from now on--that way I can put a new picture in whatever box is still free.

Snowman! Is it traditional for advent calendars to be out of order? I always assumed they would go in order.

The ones I've had have all been out of order, and part of the fun has been to locate the day, but I'm sure there are also ones that go in order.

I love the snowman! I think the element of chance (how much time will the weather allow for advent calendaring on any given day?) makes the project extra fun.

Me too! I was imagining building a design around, say, lumps of snow or whatever.

(And I was also thinking, hmmm, if I parked the car judiciously, I could protect the design if it snows... but then also, people wouldn't be able to see it--AWW HELL, JUST LET THE SNOW FALL WHERE IT WILL, WHEN IT WILL)

The blue is my favorite of the chalk colors--it goes on super smoothly and is so rich!
