Driveway Advent calendar

I had this idea last year, but only too late in the season to do it. This year I promised myself I'd do it... and then again forgot until today! But it's not too late to start.

First I drew the blank calendar:



And then I filled in days one through five!

December 1: hot chocolate with whipped cream on top:



December 2: candle



December 3: knitted mittens



December 4: snowflake



December 5: black-capped chickadee

That's pretty cool, though it really should be done here, where it never rains. (I'd totally do it, but no driveways. Or sidewalks!)

Apparently some streets near us are doing an 'Advent windows' project. Maybe I'll get out to have a look (if it ever stops raining...)

Oh I like the Advent windows idea! I hope you'll take pictures if it stops raining and you do go out.

This morning, here, it is ... raining! But it's supposed to wind down by midday, and since I work from home, I can at that point freshen up the borders of the calendar and do a new square for December 6.

Thank you! Poor thing turned into a hazy blob after yesterday's rain, but at least I got a photo. (And I might try to touch it up at some point.)
