It was such a great session--everyone really got into it.

It was a knotted and gnarled piece of metal. Like tree root over a rock.

I spent so long pondering it that I missed the dirigible I had a ticket for. Therefore, I was not onboard when it crashed.

I sent a telegram saying I would be late, and put it away. It might not have exhausted its usefulness.

One day, between bouts of paperwork, we walked with our new daughter to a nearby park. As we ambled under the cool trees by a large lotus pond, a passing old woman looked at us, then looked again -- and then offered us a peach from a plastic grocery bag, pointing to our girl. As we accepted it with bows and muttered xei xeis, she mimed pealing off its skin. I dug through my pockets for my penknife, and when I showed it to her, she nodded with approval and walked away.


(True story. TBD loved it, and it was so juicy we used up a pack of tissues cleaning ourselves off.)
