Grey and squelchy. I'm on holiday in Wales. (The weather earlier was good enough; it only started to rain about 100m from the car, so no complaints.)

Those are beautiful. They remind me of pussywillows, which I don't think we have in CA, but we had in TN.

I guess the adjective I'd use for my now is rough.

These are indeed pussy willows, but they're ones that have burst into bloom! Each of the tiny yellow pinpricks is a flower.

My day is made of calming and reciprocal. (I woke up feeling very isolated and anxious about an interaction with a friend, and not only reconnected with her, but also with a couple of other people I haven't talked to in a while.) Not as poetic as yours, but I'll take it.

calming and reciprocal is just what the doctor ordered, and I'm *very* glad you reconnected with your friend--that's a relief when you thought things had maybe gone bad.

Yeah, me too. :) I had put myself in a somewhat vulnerable position by confessing some less-than-flattering observations I'd made about a fairly well-known member of our community; she'd had a bad experience with him and was hurt and frustrated. I was fairly certain in my judgment of her character (obviously), but when I didn't hear back for a day I began to worry that I'd overstepped. Not everyone is comfortable discussing other people's flaws, even in a nonjudgmental way. Luckily she texted me back the next morning - she'd just needed time to process. But man, that vulnerability hangover can be killer.

Well, my Friday was mixed. Sun, hail, sheets of rain, sun again, mud, and relief.
My today so far is gentle. Sencha in bed with two cats that aren't fighting (atm)

A day made of gentle and sencha and cats is much better than a day of sheets of rain and mud, though the relief part must have been good, and the sun is generally good, if it's not shining in your eyes.
