Two posts from friends

I will have a this-day-in-Pen-Pal post for you later, but first I want to point you to two wonderful posts. One is by mnfaure, and features the work of an amazing poet and spoken-word performer, Anis Mojgani--it is here. And in case you are click-aversive, here is half the wonderment of that post:

And the other post is by sovay, and is a description of a truly wonderful-sounding movie. It is here, and I don't have a visual to tempt you with, but consider this:

What it reads most like is a version of Beauty and the Beast in which each of the lovers takes both parts in turn and the story plays fair with them . . . And the film never, not once, claims that love fixes broken people. All it underscores is the importance of loving people for who they are, not who they used to be or who you hope they'll turn into.

If you follow the link in the discussion below there is a link for the Enchanted Cottage. It is a black and white film so no special effects just a beautiful fairy tale told well. I think it had hints of Jane Eyre, Rebecca and a thousand and one mythological tales. I hope one day I will watch it with my bride if not on our honeymoon then on our return home. In another time line I would most definitely have watched it with my mother. It is a really beautiful touching fairy tale. I was going to watch Gozilla 2014 which I understand has no plot or character development though it might make you think about ecological things at some posthypnotic suggestion level and whose special effects are said to be outstanding. But if I did see I would not watch it again on or after my honeymoon. I would post a more accurate direct link to the film viewable on line but I figure if you can't find it from the link already provided your knowledge of computing is less than mine and you will be able to stream it. You might be attacked by some kind of worm virus thing. I rely on the mac's inability to read many of these as my main defence. But it's a damn good waste of 90 minutes like a prayer or playtime for a child.

For some reason I seem very averse to watching stuff on my computer--once in a blue moon I've done it, but basically, any time I'm at my desk (I have only a desktop computer), there are a thousand other things I want to do on the computer. I like watching movies on TV! I know: too picky. But this sounds so lovely I might just break down and watch.

Yes, I count on the Mac to be immune to a lot of that stuff too.

I was told by someone who understands these things that appletv is worth the investment then you can stream to a big TV. As yet I haven't bought a big TV but it was one of those films that worked on a 13 inch screen. Like a chamber orchestra might. I hope to see it with her one day. Ill send you the judgement by email I still haven't picked something oirish to send you yet.
