Ancillary Justice fan tea
Jul. 5th, 2014 04:10 pmIt IS ANCILLARY JUSTICE FAN TEA, YO.

I am drinking the Justice Blend. I don't have gloves on, though. If only it were a humid, sweaty day, I could pretend I was on Shis'urna, but in fact it's a cool and delightful day. Who am I?
When you played games set in story worlds, did you mainly pretend to be a character from the story, or did you create an OC and interact with the characters? I think I mainly did the latter, but sometimes the former.
THOSE OF YOU WHO'VE READ ANCILLARY JUSTICE, if you were to play an imaginary game set in the world of Ancillary Justice--not write a fanfic, mind, but play a game--which character would you be, or would you be an OC?
And a question for you,

Date: 2014-07-05 10:31 pm (UTC)ETA: Oops, I lied: there is also a bit of marigold in it--but trust me when I say it tastes mainly (to my blunt palate, anyway) like green tea.

Date: 2014-07-06 04:14 am (UTC)I would drink marigold tea.

How about a Orsian tea-equivalent? Any thoughts on that?
I have decided that if I were to imagine myself in Ancillary Justice, the character I would imagine myself as--because in spite of what I said in the entry, I don't seem to find myself imagining an OC--would be the flower bearer who goes on to work for Lt. Skaaiat. What's her name? (I cannot check my copy of the book because I sent it to my daughter [who, btw, loved it], and I'm awaiting a new copy, which had better arrive before Readercon [it will, I'm fairly certain].)

Date: 2014-07-06 06:00 pm (UTC)Now I'm going to do to you what I first did to Lloyd Alexander when I was in fifth grade and ask, how do you pronounce that?**
Left to my own devices, I would pronounce it Dah-ohs Kate, while thinking to myself that probably that second part should be Say-it or Seet.
But how do you say it?
Also, take your time on Orsian tea. It's more a shoot-the-breeze type question, because I like tea, infusions, and Ors.
**I did not ask him how to pronounce Daos Ceit, having not mastered time travel at that point. But I'm sure you know what I mean :-)
