It IS ANCILLARY JUSTICE FAN TEA, YO.

Justice tea

Justice tea

I am drinking the Justice Blend. I don't have gloves on, though. If only it were a humid, sweaty day, I could pretend I was on Shis'urna, but in fact it's a cool and delightful day. Who am I?

When you played games set in story worlds, did you mainly pretend to be a character from the story, or did you create an OC and interact with the characters? I think I mainly did the latter, but sometimes the former.

THOSE OF YOU WHO'VE READ ANCILLARY JUSTICE, if you were to play an imaginary game set in the world of Ancillary Justice--not write a fanfic, mind, but play a game--which character would you be, or would you be an OC?

And a question for you, [livejournal.com profile] ann_leckie, if you happen by: which of your characters enjoys Justice blend the most, do you think?

You didn't say if you like the tea, though? (I am delighted in principle by the opportunity to buy Ancillary Justice tea, but I doubt if I will, because I am not so much in favour of fruit-blended teas. I like my teas straight off the bush, as it were.)

Oh, I did/do like it! This one is green tea with, so the packet says, a hint of white tea and a hint of coconut, but basically it's green tea--which I like. So all's good :-)

ETA: Oops, I lied: there is also a bit of marigold in it--but trust me when I say it tastes mainly (to my blunt palate, anyway) like green tea.

I would drink marigold tea.

I am going to bring you a blend of marigold and other noncaffeinated florals--tell me if there are any floral or herbal tastes you're especially averse to. You don't mind anise, correct? How about chamomile? How about mint? How about lavender? rose? sage?

(Don't worry, I wouldn't mix all these scent/flavors. But I'm wanting to know what strongish flavors you can have)

I haven't read it but if Day hated it, it's probably worth reading.

If you do read it, I'll be interested in your opinion!

I use that method with one of the local well-spoken-of movie critics-

If he likes it, I'll hate it, and if he pans it, I know I'm in for a good movie!

I have been pondering your question all evening and morning, and I have decided that I don't know the answer to it! Very possibly the answer would be "Breq" but I'm not certain of that.

:D

I was hoping Breq would at least be among the contenders!

How about a Orsian tea-equivalent? Any thoughts on that?

I have decided that if I were to imagine myself in Ancillary Justice, the character I would imagine myself as--because in spite of what I said in the entry, I don't seem to find myself imagining an OC--would be the flower bearer who goes on to work for Lt. Skaaiat. What's her name? (I cannot check my copy of the book because I sent it to my daughter [who, btw, loved it], and I'm awaiting a new copy, which had better arrive before Readercon [it will, I'm fairly certain].)

Daos Ceit.

I will have to ponderOrsian tea for a bit longer. :)

Yes! Daos Ceit.

Now I'm going to do to you what I first did to Lloyd Alexander when I was in fifth grade and ask, how do you pronounce that?**

Left to my own devices, I would pronounce it Dah-ohs Kate, while thinking to myself that probably that second part should be Say-it or Seet.

But how do you say it?

Also, take your time on Orsian tea. It's more a shoot-the-breeze type question, because I like tea, infusions, and Ors.

**I did not ask him how to pronounce Daos Ceit, having not mastered time travel at that point. But I'm sure you know what I mean :-)

You've got the pronunciation right. :D
