I know I kind of promised some pictures of a mill--and it's a very pretty mill--but I have some other pictures I wanted to share, photos of the sun, so very many, taken with the temporary pinhole cameras formed by shifting leaves.

Look, here are tiny portraits of our nearby star:

And here:

The leaves and ground salute you, sun, and I do too. Thanks for shining.

I've seen that same camera casting a thousand bright crescents during an eclipse! This world is so magic!

Oh, lovely! Somewhere I have pictures that I took of crescent suns, during an eclipse.

If there is a gentle wind, sometimes you can see images of leaves in very sharp focus for an instant in those pinhole lights on the ground. I guess the breeze makes the pinholes sometimes get very tiny, so the depth of field is infinite and leaves and twigs higher up in the tree are projected onto the ground in sharp clarity for a split second and then disappear.

Yes, I've seen that! It's constant materializing and dematerializing.

I usually prefer sun-dappled grass - but considering how cold and rainy summer we have had here this year, any sun dappled ground is a good thing :D

Dappled grass is lovely! I wanted something that really showed off the roundness of the imaged suns, and it's a little harder to see on the grass--or at least, I didn't see any clear-enough examples to photograph.

Such pretty images. And the Strawbs! I knew one song by them, which I heard and loved in England--"Lay Down."

You photograph things I often notice, but don't feel like I know how to photograph. Thanks for sharing these.
