The shapes the wind had carved in the snow--it was like Monument National Park in miniature. Buttes and tabletops and hollowed-out mini spaces. So cool.

You have about twice as much as we do (and let's not even think about how much Worcester has...)

Really neat! You have some extreme snow banks there.

The wind creates some really high drifts.... and then starts carving them.

Me too. Summer is my home country, but when I visit winter--wow. So beautiful.

(and fun, too)

The snow drifts take some pretty intriguing shapes.

The wind is a wonderful sculptor.

The second one looks like a cross-section.
The third one looks like it was taken from high above. Maybe it was.

That third one was taken from my standing height, so not that high, but yeah, it looks sort of like a satellite photo or something.

That wind-- sculptor and sculptor's tool all in one.

Yes! The tool and the creator--wonderful.

Now you have me thinking about dance-- and about the dance/sculpture collaborative works I've seen.

Those look amazing - and strangely delicious. It looks like something you might find in a mixing bowl (at least to me - probably that's the only time I get to see white matter of that consistency...)

Yes, that's an analogy/metaphor that's worked equally well both ways for me since childhood. Snow = sugar or cream; sugar or cream = snow.

Yes! Wind sculpted snow. It's fun to see it streaming across the road, being blown by the wind.

I may have said before, but I love the snow heart in your icon.

Neat structures. I wonder if mice use artillery to dislodge potential avalanches. Might be worth a drawing if they do.

That would make an amazingly cute drawing!

Wow, how much snow did you get? When I lived in New Mexico, all that relentless winter wind made some lovely (and dangerous, on the road as they were) drifts, but we never had heaps of snow like that on the plains.

It keeps mounting higher and higher! Today, walking through it, it was over my knees. I just saw that Boston has close to three feet on the ground. ... But this looks higher than it is, because I'm taking a picture of a slope (i.e., we're looking up a slope).

Beautiful. But, cold. We've had rain, here in the desert, which has been quite cold enough for me. *brr* (Can you tell I'm a creature of warm places?)

Warm seasons are my favorites, but I do enjoy the snow as well!
