It's not foam on the crests of the waves in the sky ocean tonight: it's fire. White-hot fire licking the edge of the long wave as it breaks on . . . what shores do the sky waves break on?

Lovely! Thanks, it's been a rough day and it's good to see the sunset of it.

I agree, though there's more work I should try to squeeze into it.

I hope that's not fire. It looks creepily like what California looks like when the wildfires are bad, except the sky is much redder above the fire, and brown above.

It's not fire--just the bright light of the setting sun on the edge of the clouds.

Great picture.

It looks like a cosmic tidal wave.

Doesn't it? The dark, dark wall of celestial water, the fiery foam on top.

If this photo had been taken in the world of my MS To Be Undone, the waves would be breaking on the mere. :P http://mnfaure.livejournal.com/74983.html

The sky waves break on the shores of storms, when the deep sky reaches the shallow heat, and the gasp of attenuation makes it crumble.

(Gravity waves are awesome.)

Fire waves are best surfed on boards hewn from volcanic rock. The trick is not getting caught as your board turns back to lava of course, but as with all surfing timing is everything...
