Ah, this is great! Thank you. I like False Knees' wry existentialism, but this is a step beyond.

Yeah, when he got to the part about sentience and everything consuming everything, I was so impressed. So far beyond just wouldn't-it-be-nice-if-we-could-all-communicate. And I thought it was very real how the groups of animals separated--how the moose and owl ended up together. And how he brought the whole thing to an end. Just pitch perfect.

You can tell the artist really loves birds and pays attention to their personalities.

So as not to mislead you: the novel is quite human centric. But since I'm not that much, I read across.

I like that you can draw connections and see similarities whether something is largely human or entirely not.
