The meristem on mine had died, and so it ended up producing little offshoots from the bottom that I eventually cut off of it and transplanted into their own pots. Maybe 5 in total. The parent plant slowly died, but I had a bunch of babies to grow and give away.
I think that might happen with yours as well. The center looks dead as it did on mine.
