Hot Chocolate Run 2022

So I collected some wishes to run with this year, as I did in 2018--not as many as that year, though, because I didn't fundraise really. This year I wrapped the wishes around paperclips and then safety-pinned them to my jacket. They looked like this:

As I mentioned in a locked entry, I wasn't able to be at home--and therefor to participate in the actual race--on Saturday,** so I ran the 5 k where I am, in my dad's town.

You would think with that face I must have been burning up the suburban streets, but actually I ran at a stately pace of about 11.05 minutes per mile--my overall time was 35-something minutes.

All your wishes stayed attached to my sleeve! May they all be realized!

Meanwhile, the run garnered $793,721 to help people dealing with domestic violence. And wakanomori, co-member of Team Mompirri, ran the race in 20 minutes, 58 seconds. Now ~ that's ~ burning up the streets!

Good for you! I remember reading tweets about your recovery from covid, how you had to rebuild your stamina, and now you're running a 5K. That's marvelous!

Thank you very much! Yeah; there's the fact that I keep on aging (better than the alternative, as they say), plus wandering monsters like Covid--so all in all I'm definitely pleased!

Congratulations on successfully completing the run! I've tried running many times over the years, and I fail every time. I am built to walk not run.

Walking is Very Good! I prefer walking but I have to say running has grown on me (to my complete surprise).
