You know, it's somehow simultaneously very affecting but also very distancing. I remained really distanced from it .... I'm not saying you should read it at all! I really trust you to know what sorts of things would be too much. But I would feel things as I was reading, but at a kind of a remove. It was strange. But also, that could be me rather than the book.
