That is a very touching story, especially the part about how Jose hadn't realized how attached he had become to Zenit.
Perhaps the comparison is odd, but it reminds me of when I realized I was in love with J and we were in separate countries, intending to see one another again but not really sure (or believing, on my part anyhow) if we ever would. I literally felt like someone had punched me in the stomach and I went into a bedroom, curled up on the floor, and balled my eyes out. But all's well that ends well, and I got to "adopt" J, too. :P
