I will! It is totally awesome! And it's not like he's had tons of time for training, either--it's really totally great that he finished, and pretty much at his predicted time and pace, too.
This is only his second! His first was last September, and it qualified him to run. I'm not sure which time was better, his time in the other one or this one. I know he was a little disappointed in his time for this one, but I also know that it was good enough so that he qualified to run again next year, so he can try to improve if he wants.
Your day sounded fantastic. I loved your entry. Write a story about a bus line for ghosts, please. (Um, that last sentence was meant to be humorous, not, y'know, an actual formal request or anything. I just thought it was so cool.)
I didn't even notice that, but now that you mention it, yes, I guess in American English we'd say "it was a great time." I thought it was good too! But he had been hoping for a faster pace.
So your son runs marathons too? Cool! How many has he run?
I think around six..five in India and the NY marathon a year or two back...plus several half marathons including one in Reading near London last month..he talks about 'times', so I have some idea :-)
also that wakanamori could speed up towards the end..that really sounds great!
No, this was his second--because you need to have a certain time to qualify to run in the Boston Marathon (and actually, you need to be sure the marathon you run in to qualify is certified as a qualifying marathon). His first one was last September.

We saw a clip of the race on a TV at a station, but all we could see were the people at the very front. But OH MAN were the trains crowded.
So, YAAAAAAAAAAAY HE DONE IT

well, what I meant was that (with a son who runs marathons) 3.22 sounds very very good to me :-)
